NIEC works to rebuild economies through exhibitions

As epidemic prevention and control has become a regular practice, the nation’s economic and social orders are gradually getting back to normal. The State Council on May 8 issued a set of guideline to facilitate regular prevention and control of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic.The document noted that necessary conferences and exhibitions were to be opened, which has greatly shored up the confidence for exhibitors to overcome the current difficulties.

June 3 this year marks the 2020 Global Exhibitions Day (GED), and exhibitions play an important role in rebuilding economies.As the first venue in Nanjing authenticated by UFI, Nanjing International Exhibition Center (NIEC) are striving to bolster Nanjing’s economic growth by active response to the call of innovating in service modes and safeguarding exhibitions related to economy and trade.

The year of 2020 is a year of challenge, and also a time of turning challenges into opportunities.During the first half of 2020, NIEC, at the nation’s call of combating the epidemic and expanding domestic demand, made great efforts to stimulate consumption and restore confidence of the exhibition industry.

On March 28, 2020 Jinling Online Car Festival & Outdoor Automobile Supermarket kicked off in the center. NIEC invited a couple of network anchorsto interact with online audience on popular livestreaming platforms such as Tik Tok, Huya, Huajiao, and Yizhibo, attracting about 2 million views. Together with 91MCW.com and huichewang.com, two automobile e-commerce platforms, NIEC held two successful outdoor car promotions respectively during April 11 to April 22, and May 1 to May 3. The two promotions attracted over 4.37 million views and 19,000 online negotiations. 573 cars were sold with a gross sales value of 135 million yuan, while some 4173 people showed interests of purchasing cars, with a potential sales amount of 630 million.

Meanwhile, Nanjing International Expo Convention Center also witnessed work resumption through undertaking government meetings, building opening ceremonies and wedding receptions. NIEC is currently preparing for following exhibitions in 2020 and 2021.

NIEC has made full preparations for safe exhibitions amid efforts on the COVID-19 response. An emergency exercise for response to epidemic prevention and control during exhibitions was conducted among exhibitors and organizers on May 13, arranging demands for early prevention and control, as well as on-site supporting measures.

NIEC will fully take the opportunity ofintense exhibitions to make steady progress in the latterhalf of the year. It will continue contributing tothe transformation of the way of economic development, so as to completely unleash the key role of exhibitions in rebuilding economies.
